Open Measures: June 2024 Roundup
In June, Open Measures released Boolean and Advanced Search, studied pro-Russian operatives' anti-UN activities, and extremist/white supremacist-affiliated election watch groups on alt-tech platforms.
This month, Open Measures improved our search tools with Boolean and Advanced options. Our researchers also looked into pro-Russian misinformation campaigns against UN peacekeepers, conservative election “audit” groups on Telegram, and similar “True the Vote” activities on Truth Social.

New Feature: Boolean and Advanced Search
Researchers can now use Open Measures’ open-source tools to fine-tune their search results. By using one of two new options—Boolean or Advanced search—users can target posts, profiles, and links more precisely than using Basic search.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels Amplify Anti-UN Sentiments in Mali, DRC, and CAR
Pro-Russian operatives have been waging a misinformation war against UN peacekeeping missions online. These include the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), and the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Election “Audit” Groups Spread Misinformation on Telegram
Since the 2020 US election, alleged election fraud has been the interest of conservative election "audit" groups. Open Measures’ researchers studied how these groups have been spreading election misinformation on Telegram.

Conservative Group “True the Vote” Organizes on Truth Social
"True the Vote" activity on alt-tech platforms has increased ahead of the 2024 election. Open Measures is conducting ongoing research into True the Vote’s activities, which includes making content aimed at Spanish speakers.
