Online Racism Targeting South Asians Skyrockets
Using Open Measures’ platform, our partner Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE) conducted research showing that slurs directed at South Asians on fringe platforms have risen exponentially since January 2023, with the community being blamed for “replacing” white people. Similarly, the related “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory has been taking center stage on mainstream platforms.
